We’ve been talking about the hype that is TRON Lightcycle / Run for a while now. Some Disney World parkgoers have already been on it due to previews, but soon, the public will be able to finally hop on a Lightcycle to go on a race around the Grid.
Although the official opening date for TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom is actually April 4th, Disney recently announced that the ride would have a soft opening on March 20th (and as a result, we noticed park pass reservations for that date filling up). So this is your reminder that you need to get up early tomorrow morning if you want to ride this new attraction.
Why should you get up early, though? Well, if you want to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run, you’re only going to have TWO ways to do it because there is no standby line for the ride. First, you’ll need to be ready to roll on the My Disney Experience app to register for the virtual queue and be assigned a boarding group. The first time this becomes available is at 7AM. You will have a second chance at 1PM, though, but we suggest trying at the earlier time. If you are a deluxe resort guest, the virtual queue will also be available for you at 6PM — read all about that here.
If you don’t have any luck grabbing a boarding group through the virtual queue, you can pay to access the ride’s Individual Lightning Lane. However, we imagine this option will ALSO go fast, so you’ll have to be quick on the draw to grab a coveted spot on the ride. This option ALSO becomes available at 7AM for Disney World hotel guests.
So if TRON Lightcycle / Run is your priority tomorrow, set that alarm and get ready to grab either of those options (although if you’re really lucky, you could potentially land both). We’ll be sure to give you some of our best tips and tricks for nabbing a ride on the new attraction, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
Don’t forget that if you want to look COOL while taking a trip into the Grid, make time to stop in the new Tomorrowland pop-up shop or make your way over to Tomorrowland Launch Depot to check out the latest TRON gear!
