UNPOPULAR OPINION: You Should SKIP the Festival Funnel Cake in EPCOT This Year…Here's WHY

The 2023 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival is finally upon us and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with delicious items, fun topiaries to check out, merchandise to grab (we can’t resist merch), and even concerts to watch! But don’t let it overwhelm you, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to the Funnel Cake Stand to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a stop by? We’re about to find out together!

Food

The offering at this booth this year is the Banana Split Funnel Cake, which is Funnel Cake topped with Banana-Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, Diced Strawberries, and a Maraschino Cherry drizzled with Chocolate Syrup for 11.50.

Banana Split Funnel Cake

So…this snack is…well, it’s just fine. It’s a typical funnel cake with strawberries, chocolate sauce, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. The addition of the ice cream was SUPPOSED to make it more like a banana split, but it’s just the ice cream that offers a little bit of banana flavor.

It’s okay

We also thought that the description for the ice cream was deceiving because the chocolate chips aren’t really a part of the ice cream — they’re just sort of in there. Plus the frozen ice cream makes them hard. We thought this would’ve been better had it been a chocolate sauce swirled into the ice cream instead. Also, real bananas would’ve been nice, too.

Taking a bite

Here’s the thing: we don’t think this funnel cake is worth the price of $11.50. So we don’t feel like it’s a very good value, especially when there are so many other desserts that cost less at the festival.
