If you’re strictly a visitor of the domestic Disney parks, you might be just a little bit curious about what Disney has to offer across the pond!
There are international Disney resorts in Paris, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, each with unique attractions, food, merchandise, and entertainment. And sometimes we think that some of those international parks may have it BETTER! That was definitely the case when we stepped into a gift shop at Tokyo Disneyland recently.
Our friend Heather Sievers (@diningindisney on Instagram) recently visited Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea and sent us some pictures from her travels. One thing that really intrigued us? The souvenirs!
In Tokyo Disneyland, we happened upon a gift shop with quite the impressive selection of headwear! Like the U.S. parks, they’ve got quite a few pairs of Minnie ears, but they’ve also got a variety of hats and other headbands that we’ve never seen here.
First of all, there’s a whole line of headbands dedicated solely to characters from the Toy Story movies! There’s Rex…
…Forky…
…Hamm…
…and even one with Slinky Dog on top. They’re so unique!
We also spotted a small selection of hat-like headbands made to look like Disney characters. Essentially, the character sits on top of your head and is held in place with a chin strap.
And of course, there are hats made to look like the Fab Five! Each of these plush hats has a tiny character body that dangles down in the back — we’re very interested to see what these look like on someone’s head! 😂
There’s a pretty impressive selection of bucket hats and beanies as well. Many of the designs we spotted featured Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University designs.
And of course, we can’t forget about the Mickey pom hats! These baseball caps have giant fluffy poms on the side that look like Mickey ears.
So if you’re planning a visit to Tokyo Disney Resort anytime soon, you may need to up your headwear game before you arrive! They’re taking it SERIOUSLY over there.
We’ll keep you updated with any more news and fun from the international Disney parks, so stay tuned to DFB!
