The celebration of the Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary has begun, and there are lots of NEW things to experience.
You could check out a 100th Anniversary museum exhibit, stop by Disneyland’s TWO new nighttime shows, or even pick up a 100th Anniversary souvenir on Amazon. But there’s one particular experience that fans of Disney history shouldn’t miss!
In honor of the 100th Anniversary, a NEW exhibit has opened in The Disney Gallery in Disneyland Park. The exhibit is called The Disney Gallery Presents: Disney 100 Years of Wonder.
It is inspired by Walt’s vision for Disneyland — a place where Disney films could leave the screen and “come to life in the real world.” Within the exhibit, you’ll find tributes to the Disney films that eventually became rides and attractions at Disneyland Resort.
But this isn’t a one-way road! Eventually, certain original Disney park rides would go on to inspire movies of their own (like Pirates of the Caribbean). This exhibit pays tribute to those attractions and films too.
Throughout the exhibit, look for artwork from original Disney animators alongside artwork by Imagineers for the rides inspired by those stories.
You’ll also find an animator’s desk here…
…and a model of a multi-plane camera, giving you an insight into the wonderful world of animation.
There’s artwork celebrating Sleeping Beauty Castle…
…and historic figures from a fan-favorite ride, Haunted Mansion.
There’s a LOT to enjoy here! If you’re a Disney movie buff, a fan of animation in general, or just love Disney parks, don’t miss this on your next trip to Disneyland.
