The new terminal at the Orlando International Airport truly is a sight to behold, with its expansiveness and large windows and screens that allow for a sunny welcome to Florida. It is stunning!
For many, though, Terminal C is daunting, as it is MASSIVE. But there are two new upgrades that could make traveling through Terminal C better!
Click Orlando reported that the airport is considering adding a moving walkway to Terminal C as multiple people have complained about the walk to and from the gates. Many people state that it takes 15 minutes or longer to walk to the furthest gate.
The potential moving walkway is a relief to many, as the near half-mile walk is nerve-racking and frustrating to many travelers. Originally, airport executives planned to install the moving walkways when the terminal was still under construction, however that plan was dismissed to stay on budget.
If a moving walkway wasn’t enough for the terminal, The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority approved a request for proposals for a new hotel development at Orlando International Airport! According to Orlando Business Journal, a consult will analyze the ability to create a “hotel user adjacent/or within” Terminal C’s complex. This study will “address the current and projected market demand for the number of rooms, type and duration of hotel stays in the study area”.
The committee will then discuss the proposals on April 11th, 2023 and make a decision by May 17th, 2023. This would allow travel to be much easier for those who experience a hiccup in their plans. The hotel would be built in the empty field across from the Terminal C parking garage and guests could access it from the air terminal or the new Brightline station.
We’re so glad to see all the updates and great renovations being made at MCO, so your future trips to Orlando may be a bit easier! We’ll continue to keep you updated on the latest airport updates, so stay tuned for more.
