Well, the day has finally come — today is the LAST day Disney World guests will get to ride Splash Mountain. The attraction will be reimagined into a new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
We already saw LOADS of crowds getting in one last ride on the attraction this weekend, but today, things are looking even busier! For those who chose to purchase Genie+ to access Splash Mountain’s Lightning Lane, we hope you got a time earlier because as of right now, there are no Lightning Lane times left!
That’s right — an HOUR after Magic Kingdom opened today, Lightning Lane access for Splash Mountain is no longer available.
So what does this mean? Well, if you managed to get a Lightning Lane time, you might wait a little longer than usual, even in the Lightning Lane. However, it still means you don’t have to wait over two hours to get one last ride in on the attraction.
Don’t forget — Disney can add more Genie+ times throughout the day, so if you’re using the service today, keep refreshing to see if more Lightning Lanes pop up.
The good news is that this could mean that other rides will have lower wait times — with almost everyone over in Frontierland, other parts of Magic Kingdom might be nice and quiet — at least for a little while. We’ll definitely keep an eye on it to let you know how Splash Mountain’s final day has affected other ride wait times.
Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more coverage — we’ll be in Magic Kingdom keeping an eye on Splash Mountain today. We’ll also be keeping an eye out for construction in that part of Frontierland as Imagineers begin work on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
