When a booth is named “Gourmet Landscapes” you might go in with some high, gourmet food expectations, right? But can this Festival booth DELIVER on that promise of a “gourmet” meal experience? We’re about to find out.
The 2023 Festival of the Arts has begun in EPCOT. There are lots of food items you can try here, ranging from fancy mussels to cake with freeze-dried Skittles (that’s not a joke!). So how do Gourmet Lanscape‘s offerings stack up against the rest? Join us for our FULL review.
Menu
At Gourmet Landscapes, things really haven’t changed since last year.
All of the menu items and drinks are returning. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though — but are these items enough to draw you in for a visit? Let’s dive into the food first and find out.
Eats
We’ll start with the Blood Orange-braised Beet Tartare (note that in 2022 it was described as a carpaccio instead of tartare). The dish features mustard vinaigrette, pickled clamshell mushrooms, and golden beets. Also, last year it came with crostini though that is not specified on the menu this year.
It is gluten/wheat friendly, a plant-based item, and is part of the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine Item. The Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine is essentially a food challenge where if you buy 5 of the 7 participating items, you can get a FREE prize.
We LOVE how beautiful this dish is — festival of the ARTS, amirite?! Altogether the flavors blend really well, and the seeds give an element of spice. There’s a little bit of sweetness from the fruit which contrasts with the beets. But even though this is unique and works fairly well, it’s not one that we’re rushing to order again. Try it for $5.50.

The next dish available here is the Roasted Bone Marrow with onion marmalade, pickled mushrooms, and petite lettuce. Didn’t have roasted bone marrow on your EPCOT Bingo list, did ya?! It does seem like the item has had a few small changes since 2022. In 2022 there was mache lettuce and bone marrow snow listed on the menu. Now, it is “petite” lettuce and the bone marrow snow is no longer listed.
It’s surprisingly delicious and has a LOT of great flavor. Our favorite way to eat it is on top of the crouton bread because it adds a nice crunch. You can pick up this item for $10.50.

The final dish here is the Wild Mushroom Risotto with aged Parmesan, truffle shavings, and zinfandel reduction. It’s $9.75 and easily the best thing here.
It has made it onto our Best of the Fest list in the past because of its rich and delicious flavors and has repeatedly been wonderful. And this year is no exception! The mushroom flavor really comes through and it’s especially delicious when you get a little bite of parmesan.

If you are a fan of these ingredients, it’s a dish we strongly recommend!
Drinks
Next, let’s dive into those drinks! First, we have the Whole Hog Brewery Raspberry Chéret Double Radler. You can get a 6oz pour for $5.50 or 12oz for $9.50.
You can also find a Schlumberger Cuvée Klimt Brut on the menu for $9. Or you can opt for The Meeker Vineyard Winemaker’s Handprint Merlot for $11.
And finally, while here you can get the Frozen Rusty Nail Cocktail for $15.
In the past, the drink has been made with bourbon, tea, and topped with a chocolate nail. When we had it in 2022, it had a very strong chai tea flavor, almost to the point where it was assaulting your senses! The whiskey, however, wasn’t nearly as strong as our reporter would have liked.
Our reporter who tried it back in 2022 felt like the drink almost tasted medicinal, so that’s something to note before you pick one up yourself!
OVERALL
Overall, Gourmet Landscapes is keeping things pretty similar in 2023 when compared to 2022. The beet dish has not been our favorite, but the bone marrow stepped things up a little bit this year. The Frozen Rusty Nail also didn’t quite “nail” it (get it?!) in terms of flavors for us. But that wild mushroom risotto is DEFINITELY worth trying!
