New Scavenger Hunt Added To Play Disney Parks App for EPCOT

A LOT of things were announced as part of the massive EPCOT transformation before 2020, but because of the global health crisis, some projects were put on hold indefinitely.

Some of those projects are finally coming to fruition: we got a new Guardians of the Galaxy Ride, construction on the Moana attraction is coming right along, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has been open for a while. But the DuckTales-themed scavenger hunt that was mentioned way back in 2019 was nowhere to be seen for quite some time — until now.

We got word a few months ago that Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure would be coming to EPCOT soon. The scavenger hunt will be a way for guests to play a game around World Showcase using the Play Disney Parks app.

This will be the third such World Showcase adventure, following the previous Kim Possible and Agent P’s games. Now, we have a sign that the NEW scavenger hunt could be coming sooner than we think — it’s officially appearing in the Play Disney Parks app!

There’s no specific date on when the new scavenger hunt will go live, but it does say “Coming soon!” From what we previously heard about it, the game was supposed to have “guests take a trip around World Showcase discovering exotic destinations, exciting mysteries, and maybe even a few thieves, villains and supernatural guardians of ancient artifacts.”

It also seems to include some of our favorite DuckTales characters, too, like Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad, McQuack, Webby, Huey, Louie, and Dewey! We’ll be keeping an eye on the app to see when it goes live, so we’ll let you know when you’ll be able to play it during your next Disney World trip!

In the meantime, you can take part in a holiday-themed scavenger hunt with Olaf during the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. That scavenger hunt does cost an additional fee, but at the end of it, you can win a prize!
