Many projects in Disney World have been delayed or put on hold in the past few years mostly due to the global pandemic.
TRON construction is still going on after the project was delayed, we haven’t heard anything about certain projects that were supposed to be happening in EPCOT, and other projects have been put on hold indefinitely. But, as things pick up again, we have seen some projects completed, like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. And now, one project is finally happening that you most likely forgot about!
Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure is finally coming to EPCOT later this year! This scavenger hunt was originally announced back in late 2019, but never seemed to happen (probably due to the global pandemic). This will be a way for people to play their way around World Showcase, with Disney saying that it will be perfect for both “the young and young-at-heart.”
Looking back at what we knew about the adventure from 2019, this will be the third version of the World Showcase Adventure scavenger hunt, with the other two being the Kim Possible and Agent P’s (of Phineas and Ferb) scavenger hunts. This new version was supposed to be played entirely in the Play Disney Parks mobile app, so it’s likely that will still be the case.
The adventure was supposed to have “guests take a trip around World Showcase discovering exotic destinations, exciting mysteries, and maybe even a few thieves, villains and supernatural guardians of ancient artifacts.” And, from the poster released at the time, it looks like you’ll get to spend your adventure with characters like Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad McQuack, Webby, and more!
We’ll let you know when we find out more about the new scavenger hunt! For now, you can find out more about EPCOT’s 40th Anniversary celebrations by checking out 11 NEW eats coming to EPCOT for its anniversary, a FULL LOOK at EPCOT’s 40th Anniversary merchandise collection, and the exclusive EPCOT 40th Anniversary event that was announced.
