There’s no denying that Taylor Swift is one of the biggest stars around today.
She’s an accomplished singer and songwriter who has been in the spotlight since she was fifteen. And now, she’s getting ready to add another job description to her resumé as she prepares to direct her first feature film.
Deadline has reported that Taylor Swift will make her feature directorial debut with Searchlight Pictures. According to the report, Swift has written an original script that will be produced by the Disney-owned studio.
Not many details have been shared so far, but this will be the first feature film directed by Swift. She previously made history at the 2022 VMA Awards when she became the first solo artist to win two Best Direction awards for directing All Too Well: The Short Film and The Man.
All Too Well: The Short Film was screened at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, and is an eligible short film submission for the 95th Oscars. In addition, Taylor Swift has won 11 Grammy Awards and is the only female artist in history to win Album of the Year three times.
Presidents of Searchlight David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield said, “Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”
We look forward to hearing more details about the film and will let you know of any updates — so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more updates on this film and other Disney productions!
