And coming up in 2023, there are at least seven reasons — let’s check out the exciting D23 events happening next year!
The Walt Disney Company celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2023, and so far it’s looking like a whirlwind year full of exciting events and more. Disney’s Official Fan Club, D23, is marking the occasion with a whole host of celebrations you won’t want to miss — including movie screenings, Studio tours, live events, theatrical releases, and more!
Members of D23 can enjoy these exclusive experiences “as Disney honors its remarkable past and looks to its bright future.” So, what kind of events can members expect?! Let’s check them out!

Destination D23 will return to Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World from September 8th to 10th. This is one of the biggest fan events of the year, where you can expect to hear exciting announcements and “see sneak peeks from the many worlds of Disney — and relive favorite memories with behind-the-scenes stories, special guests, and so much more at this epic event.”

In February, Disney100: The Exhibition will debut at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Members can be some of the first to see this exhibit, and they also have the opportunity to visit the Walt Disney Studios Lot for “an exclusive event in honor of 100 years of beloved Disney stories and characters.”

The Walt Disney Studios Official Tour Presented by D23 will give members the chance to visit the world-famous studio in Burbank, California. Fans will get “a unique perspective on historic moments from Disney films, television series, and theme parks — along with the change to look inside The Walt Disney Archives and draw inspiration from Walt Disney’s office suite.” A tour of The Walt Disney Archives AND Walt’s office?! Sign us up!
Disney Animation
Several milestone anniversaries will be celebrated throughout 2023, with in-person events for fan-favorite films. Some of the films celebrating anniversaries include Finding Nemo (20th), Mulan (25th), and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (35th). Later in the year, celebrate several Halloween anniversaries like Hocus Pocus (30th), Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (30th), and Halloweentown (25th).

Have you ever wanted to visit Walt Disney’s hometown of Marceline, Missouri? D23 members will get the opportunity in June 2023 “for a very special hometown event.”

Calling all Broadway fans! The North American tours of Disney’s The Lion King and Disney’s Frozen and D23 will offer members “exclusive theatrical experiences, including special ticket packages and post-show Q&As with cast members. The events kick off in Los Angeles and Costa Mesa, California for The Lion King and Frozen, respectively. And during the highly anticipated opening of Disney’s Hercules at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey, members will get an exclusive cast experience.

There will also be D23 Gold Member previews of Walt Disney Archives traveling exhibitions throughout the United States. Members can enjoy advance and opening night screenings of new Disney movies. Not only that, but the exclusive merchandise store from Walt Disney Imagineering, Mickey’s of Glendale, will give members the opportunity to shop both in-store and online.
And finally, celebrate the return of Light Up the Season in December as part of a very merry D23 Holiday Celebration.
