If You Procrastinate Christmas Shopping, This Is For You

If you’re doing some holiday shopping this year, then now is the time!

We saw a bunch of deals over the Thanksgiving weekend, and now we’re into prime shopping season as stores are stocked up with toys, home goods, and all kinds of gifts. But if you’re ordering online, there are some big deadlines you should know about!

Keep in mind that when you’re shopping online, you’ll need to factor in shipping time to make sure that your items arrive before Christmas day. Orlando’s Spectrum News 13 has shared a list of the big deadlines that you should know for major shipping carriers.

Time for some holiday festivities!

The following are important dates to know for USPS.

For the lower 48 states:

Retail ground: Dec. 17th
First-class mail: Dec. 17th
Priority mail: Dec. 19th
Priority mail express: Dec. 23rd

For Alaska:

Retail ground: Dec. 2nd
First-class mail: Dec. 17th
Priority mail: Dec. 17th
Priority mail express: Dec. 21st

For Hawaii:

First-class mail: Dec. 17th
Priority mail: Dec. 17th
Priority mail express: Dec. 21st

If you’re doing your shipping through UPS, they have a calculator for ground shipping online. Three-day select is a deadline of December 20th, Second-day air is a deadline of December 21st, and next-day air is a December 22nd deadline.

Ground economy: Dec. 8th
Ground contiguous, Alaska and Hawaii: Dec. 14th
Express Saver: Dec. 20th

So there you go! Keep in mind that shipping dates vary with services like Amazon, so make sure to check those dates ASAP because availability may change depending on the item. Prime members can often score one-day shipping, which could be a lifesaver during the holidays!
