NEWS: Special Sailings Announced for the 25th Anniversary of Disney Cruise Line!

Disney Cruises are a way for you to travel, vacation, and experience some Disney magic all at the same time!

Disney Cruise Line’s voyages can give you the opportunity to experience exclusive entertainment and dining, new attractions, special events, and more. Disney seems to always be working on something new when it comes to the cruise ships! In fact, 2023 will mark the 25th anniversary of Disney Cruise Line, and Disney is planning to celebrate in a special way.

Do you know when the first Disney Cruise set sail? It was the Disney Magic in July of 1998! So, next summer will mark the 25th anniversary of the cruise line, and Disney will be celebrating with a “Silver Anniversary at Sea” festivities. There will be special entertainment, merchandise, and other experiences onboard all five of Disney Cruise Line’s ships.

Disney has shared four ways in particular that the celebrations will be happening. First, Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie will be getting NEW looks! These designs will feature swirls reminiscent of ocean waves, as well as multi-toned fabric in the signature color of the celebration, which is called Shimming Seas (it appears to be a turquoise color).

There will also be a NEW signature song for the celebration that was created especially for the anniversary. Another way to celebrate is with themed food and drinks like desserts, craft cocktails, and more.

Finally, you can take a piece of the celebration home with you with the new Shimming Seas merchandise collection. This collection will feature that signature color we talked about earlier and is inspired “by the magical glow of sunshine reflecting upon turquoise waters.” The merch collection will have apparel, accessories, drinkware, and more.

But, that’s not all! The anniversary will also bring in the brand-new membership tier for Disney’s Castaway Club. Members will now join the “Pearl” tier after they’ve been on 25 or more Disney Cruise Line vacations. The Cruise Line’s biggest fans will get new at-home and onboard benefits, which Disney will announce in early 2023.

You can book your cruise for the Silver Anniversary at Sea celebration right now over on Disney Cruise Line’s website! There are a bunch of itineraries to pick from, but Disney highlighted the following:

Departing from Miami — May 24th to September 4th — Disney Magic will visit destinations in the Bahamas and Caribbean, including Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
Departing from Vancouver, Canada — May 15th to September 11th — Disney Wonder will depart on Alaskan voyages from with stops in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and more.
In Europe — May 7th to September 17th — Disney Dream will sail transatlantic and European itineraries, including the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Greek Isles.
Departing from Port Canaveral, Florida — May 6th to September 2nd — Disney Fantasy will set sail on the Eastern and Western Caribbean, each with a day at Castaway Cay.
Departing from Port Canaveral, Florida — May 1st to September 8th — Disney Wish will depart on sailings to Nassau, Bahamas and Castaway Cay.
