One of Our Favorite Magic Kingdom Snacks Just Got a Downgrade

Can you believe the holidays are already here?!

The holidays are here!

Yep, it might only be the beginning of November, but Disney is celebrating! We’ve already seen decorations go up in the parks, and tonight, we’re at the first night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party since 2019! We’re checking out everything the party has to offer. So, come along with us to try out a new dessert!

This is the NEW Polar Bear Claw from Cool Ship in Magic Kingdom. It’s a chocolate hazelnut pastry with white and dark chocolate.

Wendell’s Bear Claw is one of our absolute favorite Disney World treats, so we were excited to see how this one compares!

Polar Bear Claw

First things first — this was served cold, while we prefer our bear claws to be on the warmer side. So, right off the bat we weren’t super stoked. But, the pastry is flaky and soft, nice and buttery and not too sweet. The edges of the pastry were a little bit tough, but that could have just been the claw we had!

Covered in white chocolate

The chocolate filling was perfectly creamy and rich — it was really delicious. The white chocolate coating doesn’t add much in terms of flavor, and it made the pastry hard and almost tough to eat. We didn’t hate this bear claw, but it was not the best treat we tried at the party by far! We still much prefer Wendell’s Bear Claw to this new offering. It tends to be very soft and flakey and doesn’t have the unnecessary coating all over the top.

We had high hopes for this!

If you’re looking for a delicious bear claw in Magic Kingdom, you can occasionally find them at Main Street Bakery (get it warmed up!) and at Westward Ho — it’s served cold, but still delicious.

This treat is ONLY available at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (which is happening on select dates between now and December 22nd), so you gotta get a ticket to the event if you wanna try it. You can get it for $6.50!
