The Food & Wine Festival isn’t over yet at EPCOT, but we’re already preparing for the next festival on the calendar!
The International Festival of the Holidays runs from November 25th-December 30th this year, and there are lots of special holiday offerings throughout. You can see holiday storytellers in the various countries, eat copious amounts of sweets on the Holiday Cookie Stroll, or even meet Santa Claus! But perhaps one of the most popular events is the Candlelight Processional, and some changes were just made to the lineup of narrators.
The Candlelight Processional is a show that happens in the evenings during the festival, performed at the America Gardens Theatre. Celebrity narrators come and tell the story of Jesus while a chorus of Cast Members sings holiday songs intermittently throughout. We got the schedule of narrators a few weeks back, but now there has been a change.
Originally, Edward James Olmos was scheduled to perform November 27th-29th, but that spot has now been taken by Chita Rivera. Rivera is known for her roles on Broadway, including time in the productions of West Side Story, Chicago, and Kiss of the Spider Woman.
We can’t wait to watch these performances during the festival this year, they’re usually a very popular draw. If you’d like to attend, we recommend booking a dining package at one of the participating restaurants around EPCOT. You can make reservations now, and with your meal, you’re guaranteed seating at one of that night’s shows.
And of course, we’ll be at the Festival of the Holidays on opening day to check out all the food and beverage offerings, the entertainment, and the merchandise. We’ll be sharing all our thoughts and reviews on the eats and drinks, so stay tuned to DFB!
