Sisters — ’tis time! ‘Tis time to talk about just how well Hocus Pocus 2 actually did over on Disney+!
The Halloween movie debuted on Disney+ just a few days ago, where it brought the Sanderson Sisters back from the dead…again! We’ve seen a ton of celebrations for the film, but how well did it actually do on the streaming service? Well, Disney has released an update, and it might surprise you!
Hocus Pocus 2 is the number 1 movie premiere on Disney+ to date, according to Disney. They say this was based on the hours the movie was watched domestically during the first 3 days that it was available on the streaming service.
Thank you to the magical Hocus Pocus community for making #HocusPocus2 the #1 film premiere on @DisneyPlus to date! pic.twitter.com/6TOgXzoISI
— Disney (@Disney) October 4, 2022
Do note, however, that no numbers were released with this announcement, as we haven’t traditionally seen streaming services release that information.
Hocus Pocus 2 was released on Disney+ on Friday, September 30th, and is a sequel to the cult classic Hocus Pocus, which debuted in theaters back in 1993 — almost 30 years ago!
The film stars the original trio of witches played by Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker. You can watch it over on Disney+ right now!
There’s been a lot of celebration for the film, including a makeup collection, a special cereal, a Dole Whip flight, and more.
