REVIEW: We Didn't Expect a Disneyland Churro to Make Us Sad…But Here We Are

There’s a lot happening at Disneyland right now when it comes to food! We found a delicious hidden pretzel in Galaxy’s Edge, a twist on a classic drink, a major upgrade to a fan-favorite sandwich, and SO much more. These are only some of the new treats we’ve seen in the last couple weeks with likely more on the way as we get closer to summer. If you’re on the hunt for a new Disneyland churro flavor, you’re in luck (well, kinda… .)!

On our most recent trip to Disneyland, we spotted the new Green Apple Churro with Caramel Dipping Sauce and wanted to give it a try! It’s a classic Disneyland churro rolled in green apple-flavored sugar and caramel and apples are one of the most popular flavor combos, so we were excited! But did it live up to our expectations?

When we took a bite, we noticed that there wasn’t any apple taste! Normally if we don’t like the flavoring or sugary coating on a churro, we can say that at least it was a fresh, delicious Disneyland churro at its core. But this time, we couldn’t say that! The churro was overcooked and extra crunchy, but our batch could’ve just been a flub. We had high hopes, but this churro was a bit of a disappointment.

BUT there was one winning part to this snack and that’s the caramel dipping sauce! This is one of the best churro dips we’ve had and it’s a must-try for caramel fans — it’s the perfect amount of sweet and the texture is just right. Next time, we’d like to buy the dip separately and use it with a regular churro instead!
