UPDATE: There is now a message on the runDisney website saying that registration for Marathon Weekend will now open at 12:30PM EST and to NOT refresh the page if you are already in the waiting room.
The runDisney 2023 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend has stirred up a ton of excitement — especially from ’90s babies!

We know the weekend — January 4th-8th, 2023. We know the theme — Retro ’90s. All that’s left is registration — which opens today!
That’s right! General registration for the runDisney 2023 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend opens today!

The ’90s-inspired races (meant to celebrate runDisney’s 30th birthday) include a 5k with Pluto, a 10k with Chip ‘n’ Dale, a half marathon with Daisy and Donald, and a marathon with — you guessed it — Mickey and Minnie! There are also two challenges runners can choose to complete — Goofy’s Race & a Half (39.3 miles) and the Dopey Challenge (48.6 miles)!

The weekend also includes Virtual Races for each distance/challenge, And the Disney Castaway Cay Challenge for the Disney Cruise Line! There’s options for everyone!

Note that the website to register has been having issues since registration opened at 10AM EST. We’ve been seeing this page when trying to get on the website:
And then, when we were able to get through to the website and click on the race we wanted to register for, we got this waiting page:
The message at the bottom updates about every 15 minutes, and changed around 12:15PM EST, to say that registration will now open at 12:30PM EST and that if you’re already in the waiting room, stay on the page and don’t refresh.
Right at 12:30PM, our waiting room message switched over to show an approximate wait time of more than an hour.
You can register for the Marathon Weekend right here (and hopefully the website starts working soon!). For the latest Disney news, be sure to check back here often.
