We can’t contain our excitement for the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT!

We finally got an opening date for this attraction, so now we know that we’ll get to ride it beginning May 27th, 2022! Some guests, such as Annual Passholders and select D23 members, will even get an early preview of the attraction. We’ve learned a lot about the ride already, with some first looks at the queue area and behind-the-scenes footage of the coaster. But now we know another very important detail about this roller coaster: the minimum height requirement!
According to D23, the minimum height requirement for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be 42″ (107cm).

For reference, many mid-level Disney World attractions have a 40″ height requirement, including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Test Track, and DINOSAUR. A few roller coasters have a 44″ height requirement, like Space Mountain and Expedition Everest. If your child was tall enough to ride those two coasters, they should be fine to ride the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Height requirements are an important part of keeping guests safe on roller coasters. They can be based on a number of factors, including the ride vehicle and restraints. It’s a good idea to have a Cast Member check your child’s height when you arrive in a park so that you know which coasters they can ride during your visit!
