There are some rides in Disney World that shut down more than others (cough cough, Rise of the Resistance).

Whether it’s for technical difficulties, bad weather, or an unknown issue, sometimes rides are closed in Disney World and there’s nothing you can do about it but wait. And, a ride that is no stranger to being shut down is once again closed today in Magic Kingdom.
Splash Mountain is CLOSED in Disney World. We saw that it was marked as “temporarily closed” on My Disney Experience this morning.

In fact, the ride never even opened up this morning. Cast Members we talked to said they are hopeful that the ride will open at some point today.

When we went by this morning, we saw a bunch of the log flumes stacked up together at the bottom of the drop.
Closed for now
But, the water on the ride was still running.

Last night when we rode Splash Mountain, we were stopped for a few minutes and the lights actually turned on! But, when we started moving again, they turned back off.
