Do a jig and tip your hat — Saint Patrick’s Day is almost here! In Disney World, you can find all sorts of St. Patrick’s Day treats around the parks and resorts, like this cute little cake we found at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. We’re gonna be honest with you, Disney’s seasonal treats can be hit-or-miss. Sometimes, we end up finding a hidden gem, while other times we’re left a little disappointed.
St. Patrick’s Day treat
Today, though, we’re feeling lucky, so let’s go check out the newest St. Patrick’s Day treat over in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!
It’s not an official Disney World holiday until a cupcake shows up at the party, so let’s all say “hello” to the new Mickey St. Patrick’s Day Cupcake! This was a vanilla cupcake with a chocolate mousse filling, topped with chocolate and vanilla buttercream that was dyed green and covered in green clover sprinkles. You’d have to take a BIG bite to get the full cupcake in your mouth — look how tall it is!
How festive!
This was a nice, plain vanilla cake with some pretty sweet icing. Inside, there’s a chocolate filling that helps break up all that icing piled on top of the cupcake. We even liked the little chocolate Mickey ears; they gave us a nice little crunch! Our biggest complaint came from the chocolate filling. The filling was VERY dense and fudgy (almost TOO dense!).
Nice and simple, just the way we like it!
With that in mind, we’ll rate this as a pretty average, middle-of-the-road cupcake. If you love sweet, simple, photogenic holiday cupcakes, give this a try and snap some cute photos! If you’re more interested in something a little more unique, you might want to check out something else.
