When you walk into Disneyland and see that Mickey Mouse flower bed, you know it’s gonna be a good day!

However, if you’ve been to Disneyland the last few days, you might have noticed that Mickey isn’t there. After nearly 70 years of operation, Mickey is absent from the hillside under the Disneyland Railroad. Why? Because Disney is celebrating another iconic Mouse for International Women’s History month! We’ve seen some great snacks over in Disney World celebrating Women’s History Month, so let’s take a look at Disneyland’s tribute to their most iconic lady! 

There have been seasonal changes to the Mickey flowers that greet you when you walk into Disneyland, but this is the first time that Minnie’s been in the spotlight, and she looks beautiful! Her big pink bow looks amazing, and we love the details on her eyelashes.

Minnie Flowers at the Disneyland Entrance!

A team of 13 horticulture Cast Members created the Minnie flowers in the late hours of the night before March 1st. The Minnie design includes 1,750 individual plants, with the bow alone containing roughly 750 Nemesia plants! The flowers around Minnie include pansies, violas, and petunias.

Horticulture Specialist Stacy Wise created the Minnie design! She said, “It’s amazing that we’re having this step for Women’s History Month, and having Minnie Mouse featured is fantastic,” she said. “Minnie Mouse is just as iconic as Mickey Mouse, and she needs a little face time.” Here’s a look at how Disney did it!
