Forget peanut butter jelly time (sorry if that song is stuck in your head now)…it’s AVOCADO TIME!

At the 2022 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival you’ll find a booth dedicated to artichokes and another all about nuts and cheese. But for the avocado fans, there’s one important place to go — Avocado Time! This year, the Avocado-based booth is serving up something very unique (hint: it’s frozen!!) and we couldn’t pass up the chance to give it a try!

At Avocado Time you’ll find some returning items as well as new treats.

The BIG draw at this booth in terms of new items this year is that Frozen Guacamole! We’ve been curious about it ever since we first saw a photo of it released by Disney, and now it’s time to give it a taste.

Eats

Let’s try out these new items, people!

We start this review with an item that has us…excited? confused? concerned?…it’s FROZEN GUACAMOLE! This snack is made of an Avocado Paleta with Lime Crema, Pico de Gallo, Chile-Lime Seasoning and Tortilla Crunch. It’s priced at $5.50.

In 2020, this booth served up FRIED guacamole, so it looks like they just decided to take things to the other extreme on the cooking spectrum.

It certainly looks…interesting. But how does it taste?! The ingredients sound promising — avocado, lime, pico de gallo. But should it all be in frozen form?!

Okay, so we absolutely LOVED this! We know, we know — we’re just as surprised as you are! We were so expecting this to be weird, but it’s delicious. The bar is creamy and the toppings are crunchy and super fresh.

It’s still savory, but it’s also refreshing — we’re having a hard time wrapping our heads around it, honestly! We would recommend that you eat it on a plate with a spoon, though, otherwise you’ll lose all of those tasty toppings!

Also available at this booth is the Avocado Impossible Burger. It’s an Impossible burger with avocado and dairy-free pepper jack cheese priced at $8. This is a returning item that we tried back in 2020.

When we had it back in 2020, we felt like this worth the cost ($8 back then too) for the size of the patty ALONE! The patty we got was thicccccck — basically almost the size of a hockey puck (in terms of thickness).

And while that thickness might be good for value, it did make it a bit difficult to bite into. Once we did manage to take a bite though, we found that the flavor was…alright.

We wished that the dish had a bit more of a punch in terms of flavor, but we will say that we’re happy to see a vegetarian option is available here for those who don’t eat meat.

Beverages

When it comes to beverages, new to the booth this year is the Ruby Grapefruit Sparkling Beverage. This drink is non-alcoholic and features Grapefruit Juice, Raspberry Syrup, Agave Nectar and Topo Chico® Mineral Water. It’s priced at $5.

This drink is really refreshing as well! The tart grapefruit flavor is cut by the raspberry syrup to make it more balanced. And, there are fresh raspberries in here, which were such a nice touch!

Also available at this booth is the Duckhorn Vineyards, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, priced at $14. And, you can get a Red Grapes or Green Grapes Glow Cube Charm added to any drink for $5.50.

You can also get a bottle of DASANI water ($4.25) or smartwater ($5).

Overall

If you’re looking for a unique avocado treat you won’t really find anywhere else, or a veggie burger with a bit of avocado, you may want to stop by Avocado Time!
