February is Black History Month, and you can celebrate in Disneyland!

Disneyland is holding a celebration called Celebrate Soulfully all throughout the month of February to celebrate Black history and culture. Live music, specialty dishes, and installations by Black artists will all be at Disneyland Resort, and we got a special look at all of the festivities!

We were invited to a media event for Celebrate Soulfully at Disneyland Resort!

Here’s a look at what you can experience!

Food

We got to check out some of the new and exclusive foods for Celebrate Soulfully, here’s what we saw! We didn’t try any of the food yet, but this was set up in Downtown Disney in front of Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen!

Over in Disneyland, we tried the Caramelized Apple-filled Hand Pie!

It was served warm, and was filled with a gooey apple filling. It broke apart pretty easily when we opened it, but it was very tasty!

That’s all for food, but there was still so much more to see!

Art

Celebrate Soulfully brought art installations from Black artists all over Disneyland. They also had chalk artist creating amazing murals! Let’s take a look at the art we found! Over at Wonderground, we found a bunch of art inspired by The Princess and the Frog!

This display was set up with all of the exclusive Celebrate Soulfully pieces!

Here’s a closer look at one of the Tiana pieces!

They had lots of different art styles!

They also had these special pins for the 55th anniversary of New Orleans Square!

Over in Disneyland, these signs were set up near Fantasyland Theater for the Celebrate Gospel concert series. They had pictures and timelines outlining the history of gospel music!

The signs talked about different eras of Gospel Music! This one was about the next generation of Gospel artists!

This one had a timeline of Contemporary Gospel Music!

This one also has information about Contemporary Gospel Music.

This one was about the Golden Age of Gospel.

This one had a brief overview.

They also had a Gratitude Wall where we could write something we were grateful for and hang it up.

Here’s what the Gratitude Wall looked like with some of the messages hung up.

They had supplies to write the messages, including clean pens for guests.

The art at Celebrate Soulfully was amazing! Let’s see what else they had.

Entertainment

Disneyland will be hosting live music as a part of Celebrate Soulfully! There is a “Celebrate Gospel” performance at Disneyland Resort this month. We were able to catch the Singers of Soul in Downtown Disney!

We also saw this sign for The Mood Indigo Group performances in Disney’s Grand Californian!

We headed over to the Fantasyland Theater for the Celebrate Gospel concert series!

We saw Sacred Groove…

… Spirit and Truth Ensemble…

… and Kierra Sheard!

The live entertainment at Celebrate Soulfully was amazing! We are still at the event and will continue to update as we see more entertainment, art, and more!
