It’s the holiday season in Disney World, which means there is a TON of holiday food to check out!
We’ve already had so many festive treats, like Orange Bird Churros, a Mini Pumpkin Pie Funnel Cake, and a Red Velvet Whoopie Pie. But, there is even more to try! Come with us as we check out a new holiday cupcake at one of the Disney World hotels.
This is the Holiday Moana Cupcake! You can find it at Kona Island or Capt. Cook’s inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
This is a chocolate cupcake with morello cherry, buttercream icing, and chocolate Moana décor.
The decorations are super fun! They’re covered in edible glitter and the icing has some crushed sugar cookies on top.
The cherries are REALLY tart in this cupcake! Even with the sweet icing, it didn’t cut through that tartness enough for us.
When we cut into the cupcake, we were surprised by how many cherries were inside! There were about 6 cherries in the center of our cupcake. The tartness of the fruit really soaked into the cake, to the point where even the bottom of the wrapper was wet from the juices.
If you like the flavor of tart cherries, then you’ll probably love this! But, if you aren’t a cherry person, this is not for you. It has a very strong cherry flavor.
We do wish the cupcake would have had a little more icing on top to help with the overwhelming tartness.
If you want to try the Moana Holiday Cupcake out for yourself, you can get it for $6 at Kona Island or Capt. Cook’s from now through December 31st. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney holiday food news and reviews!
