Have You Ever Tried This RARE Disney World Treat?

Some holiday treats and items are easy to find in Disney World and hang around for several weeks throughout the holiday season.

But, other treats are more elusive or rare and can only be obtained for a few hours or days. If you’re hoping to try one treat in particular over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’re going to have to act fast before it disappears!

Over at Satu’li Canteen in Pandora: The World of Avatar, there is a rare treat that usually only appears about once a year. This elusive creation is the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse! The dessert is made with Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse with Chocolate Cookie Crumbles, Pumpkin Sauce, and Boba Pearls.

We’ve had this item in the past, but it can be a tough one to get. It typically only pops up around Thanksgiving and usually only sticks around for a pretty limited time (though sometimes it’s been available for slightly longer). So, what did it taste like this year? Well, the green merengue on top tasted like a plain merengue but just had some green food coloring added to it. Still, if you love a good merengue, you’ll love that little added touch.

The boba (to us at least) tasted the same as the ones served with the bowls, which threw us off a bit since we’re used to having it with more savory items (tofu, potatoes, steak, etc.). In the past, these have been cranberry-flavored boba balls (though sometimes we really haven’t gotten that strong cranberry flavor). Still, it was cool to have that added texture and flavor element.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse

The bottom of the treat is a thin layer of dense cake, adding more softness to the treat overall (as opposed to the crunch of something like a pie crust). The filling is light and not dense like a true cheesecake (which, to us at least, was a good thing). It was sort-of like a fluffy pumpkin pie filling!

Having the chocolate crumbles at the bottom adds a nice texture and flavor difference, giving some chocolate notes to this otherwise very pumpkin-y treat. And it doesn’t hurt that this treat is pretty Instagrammable too with those BRIGHT colors!

Overall, if you’re a big pumpkin fan, we think this is something you would really enjoy! Just be aware that the texture of the mousse itself (think of like a fluffy pumpkin pie filling) is something that might not be for everyone. If you’re expecting the texture of a cheesecake or regular pie, this isn’t quite it, so you’ll just want to keep that in mind. Still, we think it’s a tasty treat that many could really love!
