If you’re heading to Disney World soon, be prepared for 50th Anniversary merchandise all over the parks.
There are a few different new collections, like the Celebration and Castle collections and the Vault collection. The Vault items are vintage-style souvenirs that celebrate Disney World’s past, and you can find all of that merchandise at a special display area in the Main Street Cinema. Today, while we were looking around at the sentimental souvenirs, we spotted a couple of NEW to us items!
First up, we spotted a new pack of vintage Disney World postcards.
Remember when sending postcards on vacation was a THING? Like great uncle George might send you a postcard from Niagra Falls or you might send grandma a postcard from Disney World! The pack comes with 10 replica postcards, featuring attractions from Disney World’s past. We spotted attractions like the Country Bear Jamboree, the Electrical Water Pageant, and the Main Street Electrical Parade! Plus the new hotness when it debuted in 1971, the Contemporary Resort and its eye-catching A-frame building.
You can get the pack of 10 cards for $9.99. And you can also check out the other new item we found — a mug with old-style Disney characters on it! Some members of our team got PUMPED to see this cause it is basically straight out of our childhoods. How many of us had a mug like this growing up?? Disney World sold this same white plastic style mug with loads of different fun designs on it!
This mug has a white background and the original Disney World logo, with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto walking around the sides.
It’s topped with a Mickey hat lid, which has a hole for a straw on the side. This would have been a tippy-top contender for best mug ever to have with a meal as a kid and now, you can give the next generation the same experience! (Or drink out of it yourself. That’s how we roll!)
You can get the mug for $22.99! We found both of these items at the Main Street Cinema in the Magic Kingdom with all the other merchandise from the Vault Collection.
