Disney Genie is launching soon, people! It will debut in Disney World on October 19th.
While the main part of Genie is the free portion that helps you plan your Disney World trip, one of the new paid features launching with the program is Individual Attraction Selection, or pay-per-ride. These are high-demand rides that you can pay individually to skip the line of using the new Lightning Lanes. These rides are also not included with Genie+, the new paid program replacing FastPass+. We’ve learned a lot about this pay-per-ride system, but Disney just announced more important information that you need to know if you’re going to pay for these individual rides.
You will NOT be able to modify your reservations for rides you’re paying to skip the line of individually in Disney World.
This means you cannot change the ride you paid for to a different ride and you also cannot cancel your reservation. Once you pay for that ride, it’s a done deal. If you don’t show up to that ride during your reservation time, you will not be refunded.
The only way you would be refunded your money is if the ride was closed during your time due to something like the weather or technical difficulties and your reservation couldn’t be rescheduled to later in the day or a different day.
Here is a look at all of the rides that can be paid for through Individual Attraction Selection:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Magic Kingdom
- Space Mountain – Magic Kingdom
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – EPCOT
- Frozen Ever After – EPCOT
- Avatar Flight of Passage – Animal Kingdom
- Expedition Everest – Animal Kingdom
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Hollywood Studios
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – Hollywood Studios
You can see the prices for some of these individual rides here.
So, make sure you’re confident in the rides you select for this service because as of now, you won’t get your money back if you decide not to show up. And, depending on your party size, that could be a good chunk of change! Rise of the Resistance is launching at $15 per person for Individual Attraction Selection, so a family of 4 could lose $60 if they choose to skip their reservation. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney Genie news and updates!
