To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.
The United States has been discussing travel restrictions frequently over the last few months.
Current restrictions prevent most non-U.S. citizens from entering the country if they’ve been in the UK, the EU nations, Ireland, China, India, South Africa, Iran, and Brazil. In July, the White House decided these restrictions would remain for a while since the COVID numbers were increasing due to the Delta variant. Now, however, the travel restrictions are changing.
Starting this November (2021), the U.S. is planning to ease restrictions for visitors traveling from foreign nations including the UK and countries in the EU, according to CNBC. The visitors must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
For those traveling to the U.S. who are not citizens, they will need to “show proof of vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test taken within three days of departure” (CNBC) before they board a plane heading to the United States.
U.S. citizens who are unvaccinated and returning home will need to take a COVID-19 test one day before they board the plane and test again when they return to the United States.
The CDC is requiring airlines to help with contact tracing as well by providing them with passenger information. This order is meant to help track and control the spread of any COVID-19 cases.
Since the travel restrictions will be easing in early November, we’ll likely see a surge in air travel for the holiday season.
