runDisney is kicking off 2022 with one of their biggest events of the year: the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend! This event will take runners around Disney World, earning medals and seeing the parks in a whole new light!
Today, Disney revealed the medals for this year’s Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend — and they all feature plenty of “EARidescence” in honor of Disney World’s 50th anniversary!
For this year’s 5k event, runners will receive a Pluto Medal! This medal features the adorable dog we all know and love along with a small spinnable element that says 50 (for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary) on one side and 5k on the other side!
For this year’s 10k, you’ll earn the Oswald Medal! This medal features the vintage Disney character running (or is he hopping?) past Spaceship Earth in EPCOT! Plus, you can slide Oswald from left to right on one side of the medal — how cool is that?!
For this year’s Half Marathon, you’ll win a spinning medal with Donald Duck on one side and Daisy Duck on the other.
For this year’s Walt Disney World Marathon, you’ll get an iridescent (or should we say EARidescent!) spinning medal with Mickey on one side and Minnie on the other side!
For this year’s Goofy Race and a Half Challenge, which is running the Half Marathon on Saturday and the Marathon on Sunday, you’ll get a fun Goofy Medal! Of course, Goofy spins in true Goofy fashion, giving this medal a chaotic flair.
For this year’s Dopey Challenge, which is running all four different races during the Marathon Weekend, you’ll get the Dopey Medal! This one really brings the glitz and glam! Plus, if you finish the Dopey Challenge, you also get the Goofy Challenge Medal.
Want to see these medals in movement? Well, you’re in luck! Disney put a medal reveal video that will give you an even better look at this year’s offerings!
