The Polite Pig in Disney Springs is home to delicious barbecue and wonderful drinks!
We recently tried Shrimp and Grits and a Keylime Pie Cocktail here as part of the Flavors of Florida event in Disney Springs, and we were blown away! But today, we tried out the new chef’s special at this beloved barbecue spot!
The new Chef’s Special on the menu is the Pork Burnt Ends.

The menu
This $17 special includes Pork Burnt Ends with a Honey Mustard Glaze, Slaw, and a Jalepeño Cornbread, and we choose the returning Cheddar Grits with Collard Greens and Black-Eyed Peas as our side!
The burnt ends were great! It wasn’t very strong in terms of mustard flavor, but you could definitely taste the honey in the glaze. The pork had a little bit of a fatty chew in some pieces, kind of like a pork belly! The garnish was very refreshing, which was perfect since the meat was a bit on the salty side and the glaze was very sweet. We just wanted a little more of the garnish! If you love barbecue pork with a sweet glaze, this is for you!
The Cheesy Grits with Collard Greens and Black-Eyed Peas was great! It was just the right amount of salty and was creamy without being mushy. The greens and peas really lifted these grits to the next level and made them much more complex. There was also a bit of a peppery kick which we loved!
The cornbread…

Cornbread
…and slaw were pretty standard barbecue-style sides, but both really delivered!

Slaw
Overall, we really enjoyed this special! The pork was a nice sweet-savory combo, but the flavors and saltiness might be a bit on the strong side. The grits were great and something different from the usual cheesy grits! We enjoyed this meal and recommend giving it a try, so head over to the Polite Pig if this looks like something you would enjoy.
