Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
And, between reopening restaurants, a brand new treat, construction, and merchandise we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s jump right on in!
Animal Kingdom Food Update
Pizzafari
Over the past few months, we’ve been seeing more snack kiosks and restaurants reopen in Animal Kingdom and now the fan-favorite spot to grab a pizza in the park is BACK!
Pizzafari has officially reopened and is now serving up its full menu of pizzas, salads, and more plus a few new additions! So, now you can find a new Blue Lagoon Lemonade with Glow Cube (that can be served with or without alcohol)…
…a new Chicken Parmesan Sandwich which is made with Breaded Chicken topped with Marinara and Provolone on Ciabatta Bread served with side Caesar Salad for $10.99…
…and a new Spaghetti and Meatball Cupcake that is a Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Chip Cannoli Filling topped with Cherry Sauce, Vanilla Buttercream Spaghetti, and a Chocolate Doughnut “Meatball” for $5.99.
Of course, we had to try a few of the returning options too when we stopped by!
Pizzafari will now open daily for lunch from 11AM to 3PM, and we’ll be bringing you a full review of the restaurant soon so stay tuned!

Creature Comforts
And, a cupcake made to look like spaghetti and meatballs wasn’t the only new dessert that can be found in Animal Kingdom! There’s also a NEW Baloo Cupcake at Creature Comforts (and a few other locations)!
The sweet treat is a chocolate cake with caramel-honey banana jam, caramel-honey frosting, chocolate crisp pearls, and a chocolate Baloo medallion and you can give it a try for $5.99.
And, we must say, if you’re a big fan of chocolate and banana, then you’ve got to give this guy a try! It may look like a chocolate overload, but the banana flavor is almost equally as powerful.

Animal Kingdom Construction Update
Discovery River Amphitheater
After a few years of having no nighttime show at the Discovery River Amphitheater, Disney is preparing to bring a brand new daytime show, called Disney KiteTails, to the location in just a few months! We’ve been keeping track of the construction (which has been fairly minimal so far), but this week we noticed that the large barges that once floated on the water near the theater are now missing!
As a reminder, here’s what it looked like before…
…and here’s what it looks like now! The barge and construction boat are both completely gone from the area and now black poles have taken their place.
These may be preparations for some of the show elements that will be featured over the water or something else, but we’ll continue to keep an eye out for updates!

Animal Kingdom Merchandise Update
Discovery Trading Company
Of course, we had to do some shopping while we were in the park and we spotted the newest additions to the Disney nuiMOs collection at Discovery Trading Company! So, now guests can pick up the two new princess plushes, which includes Ariel…
…and Jasmine. Both cost $21.99 each.
Or, you can get your nuiMOs ready for the fall (and Disney World’s 50th Anniversary) with new outfits like the silver and blue dress and suit…
…or the polka dot dress with a blue fur coat.
Plus, the August release includes a Floral Jumpsuit and Plaid Blazer outfit…
…and a Colorblock Sweatshirt with Red Beanie.
Each outfit costs $12.99.

And, we also noticed that Disney’s face masks have been moved to a more prominent location in the shop now that they are required to be worn by guests at all indoor locations in the parks and resorts.
Well, that’s it for what’s new in Disney’s Animal Kingdom this week! Of course, we’re always busy exploring the parks so that we can bring you the latest Disney news and updates, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!
