Halloween time is just around the corner in Disneyland, and that means all sorts of treats, merchandise, and entertainment is coming along with it! But, we have to be honest — we’re the MOST excited for the return of the Oogie Boogie Bash this year!
The event will stretch over the course of five hours in Disney California Adventure (2 more hours than Disney World’s Halloween event), as guests go trick-or-treating and visit the Frightfully Fun Parade. But, now we’ve got a sneak peek at the wicked areas that will be arriving at the Oogie Boogie Bash!
The Disney Villains are taking over the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail as the Villains Grove is brought to life! The forest will have themed decorations, lights, and sounds to fit with each villain’s story as you travel through the woods…if you dare, that is!
You can take a trip around the globe to spots like Frollo’s Sanctuary straight from the Notre Dame in Paris! The cathedral-like atmosphere will have “trees infused with incense smells and chanting voices.” But, you can also make your way to the Pride Lands in Africa with Scar’s Elephant Graveyard with hyena laughter shaking things up around each corner!
Of course, there are a few more places that dabble in the otherwordly. Dr. Facilier’s Friends on the Other Side have left New Orleans to show up with “shadowy hands and colorful spells” in the Villains Grove. And, guests can also head to Wonderland to witness self-painting roses at the Queen of Hearts Garden.
Some of the biggest Disney baddies will also be paying a visit to the Oogie Boogie Bash as well! There will be thorn-spike vines, ravens, and even a spellbound and colorful waterfall over at Maleficent’s Will. And, you can give yourself the scare of the night over at The Wicked Queen’s Lightning Forest as an “electrifying storm flashes from branch to branch” amidst the trees!
You can end your trip to the Villains Grove on a high note as the light guides you out of the area in the Home of the Wisps before the grand finale of flickering lanterns and a sunrise at Dawn.
The Oogie Boogie Bash will run on select nights from September 9th through October 31st, so you have plenty of time to get your chills and thrills on! Of course, we’ll be taking you with us when the event officially opens to visitors. So, stay tuned with DFB for the latest Disney entertainment and news you need to know about soon!
