Orange Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie

It seems every day there’s an over-the-top (in the BEST way possible) new treat from this Disney World sensation, and their latest dessert du jour sounds like an absolute MUST for chocolate cake fans!

Ever since Gideon’s Bakehouse opened in Disney Springs, the Orlando-based bakery has drawn lines long enough to rival the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. That’s because the whimsical bakers are CONSTANTLY whipping up dazzling new dessert ideas, from buttercream frosting cups to literal pureed cake, which tastes a LOT better than it sounds — we swear!

Now this weekend’s special is a chocoholic homage to Florida! It’s an Orange Fudge Chocolate Chip Cake, and it’s available today and tomorrow at both the Disney Springs location, and at Orlando’s East End Market.

Lately, Gideon’s has been digging deep on local Florida flavors, telling the story of a character named Stuart Valencia, a lil’ boy who likes orange flavors. This cake doubles down on that lore with a WHOPPING three-layer dessert made with LOTS of orange, and even more chocolate!

It’s a chocolate cake coated with orange simple syrup and a THICC layer of orange-infused dark chocolate fudge buttercream. The sides are heaped with dark chocolate chips, and the top is sprinkled with pecans and candied orange pieces from the Stuart’s Cookie.

Yeah, there’s a lot happening here, and this is clearly a MUST-EAT for any chocolate-lover out there, especially those like Stuart who prefer their chocolate with a splash of Florida orange!
