It seems like all the pool construction around Disney World is finally wrapping up!
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Earlier this year, it felt like every pool in Disney World was closing for refurbishment. We saw work done to the Hippy Dippy Pool at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, the Paddock Pool at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, the splash area at Disney’s Polynesian Resort…well, you get the point. And while there’s still more refurbs to come, at least we can mark one more hotel off the list!
Today, the Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort reopened! The pool closed on January 11th, 2021 and was expected to remain unavailable through early April. Well…Disney took that quite literally, because it’s April 1st and people can splash around in this GIANT pool once again!
The Big Blue Pool is back open!
You’ll find all the Finding Nemo touches intact…
We love the ‘Finding Nemo’ theme!
…including those giant jellyfish on the shallow end!
These are pretty cool, right?!
The splash pad is back open, too. It makes a great options for kiddos who may shy away from the deeper water.

And if you’re not in the mood to swim, there’s plenty of chairs set up for lounging. You can also enjoy a drink while you chill — The Drop Off Pool Bar is celebrating the big day with 2 brand-new drinks! Sunshine and sweet sips? What more could ya ask for?!

This is one of our favorite Disney pools — it’s HUGE and the theming is top-notch — so we’re happy to welcome it back. We’ll be sure to keep you posted with plenty more Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB!
