PHOTO & VIDEO: ANOTHER Hollywood Studios Icon Is Getting a New Look!

Spaceship Earth is getting a new nighttime look with sparkling lights, Cinderella Castle is getting all dolled up for the 50th Anniversary, AND The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will also be getting a new look in Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the 50th Anniversary. But, now MORE change is coming to another iconic building in the Disney World theme parks.

If you love Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Chinese Theatre, AND you miss those spotlights in the park that used to search the sky at night — get excited!!

Earlier today, Imagineer Zach Riddley shared a post on his Instagram about the NEW lighting design coming to the iconic Chinese Theatre in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This theatre is the one that now houses Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

According to Riddley, the theatre is getting a NEW nighttime look with “bright gold accents [and] all-new energy-efficient LED lighting.” But that’s not all! Riddley shared that the part he’s REALLY excited about (and the part we have a feeling you might be very excited about too) is that with this look we’ll get the return of the “spotlights searching the sky as the theatre welcomes guests to the premiere of the latest Mickey Mouse short at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.”

Riddley shares that this new look is the “culmination of years of work by our teams to bring ‘premiere night, every night’ energy to this iconic golden age of Hollywood architecture.” Scroll to the end of the items shared in Riddley’s post below and you’ll be able to watch a video of the new nighttime lights in action!
