It’s spring break season and that means a LOT of folks are headed to Disney World.
With the current capacity restrictions, that means that we’ve seen the Disney Park Pass theme park reservations COMPLETELY filled for several days in March — today included. We expected a busy, busy day in Disney World, but it was a little complicated…
We had reporters in Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom today. As you might know, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is presently the park the books up the FASTEST in Disney World so we’ve seen LOTS of capacity days in that park. Let’s take a look at the crowds today!
Magic Kingdom
Here’s a glimpse at what the crowds looked like in Magic Kingdom!
We spent much of our afternoon in Magic Kingdom and we will say, it felt…empty. Okay, maybe it didn’t feel super-slow-day empty but we haven’t seen the castle hub look this clear in a while. There weren’t even any lines for PhotoPass spots!
We would say that the limited capacity was very apparent today. Despite every single park pass being booked, walkways were still wide open.
Now, this wasn’t the case all over the park. We wouldn’t say it was SUPER slow.
Some areas had significant crowding. When we passed by Haunted Mansion, it felt a LOT more like a high crowd day.
And Fantasyland felt that way at times too! Wait times were about what they have been with a few expected spikes.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train sat at around an hour wait and Splash Mountain was above an hour for most of the day.
It’s likely that even when we were seeing empty walkways, queues and restaurants were full.
As you can see from this picture too, it felt like much of the crowd moved to Fantasyland at one point.
As we moved out of Fantasyland and into Tomorrowland, the crowds thinned.
Again, we were in Magic Kingdom during the afternoon so it’s possible that many of the guests who started their day in the park had park-hopped.
Still, color us surprised! This is certainly not what we expected today when we drove into a fully booked Magic Kingdom.
As of the last update from the Walt Disney Company, the Disney World parks are still operating at 35% capacity. Magic Kingdom honestly felt less busy than we’ve seen it on non-capacity days.

EPCOT
Over in EPCOT, we saw a similar ebb and flow of crowds. At times, walkways felt busy.
Other times, it seemed like there was plenty of room to spare.
Mouse Gear is typically a good indicator of how busy the park is and we spotted a pretty long line to get into the merchandise spot.
Really though, EPCOT mostly felt like a regular day.
The EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival is in full swing, and it looked about as difficult as usual to find a table. There ARE options, you just have to keep an eye out when you grab your food or drinks.
We were in EPCOT for much of the day and we saw crowds and wait times fluctuate, much like they did in Magic Kingdom.
Even though crowds felt a little lighter, the pinch point between Norway and China was still notably congested.
As for wait times, they were about the same as (if not lower than!) recent days. We saw Test Track fluctuate between 50 minutes and an hour and other attractions remained under an hour wait.
Sure, EPCOT felt like it was a busier day.
But, recent days have brought crowds that we thought were more shocking or the same — and the park hasn’t technically been at capacity.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Finally, let’s check in on the crowds at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Wait times in this park have been HIGH over the past few days and today followed that pattern. Dinosaur has had waits around 45 minutes most of the time.
When Dinoland, U.S.A. isn’t super sparse, we tend to think it’s a busier day. There were definitely folks around but we’ve seen this area PACKED earlier this week.
The path between Dinoland and Asia felt tighter due to the routing of the Expedition Everest queue.
And we saw a LOT more crowding when we made it into Asia. This is certainly more of what we’d expect from an at-capacity day.
There were definitely points where you had to stay vigilant to keep a distance from other guests.
But, just like the other parks, some areas opened up with a lot of breathing room!
Crowds seemed to be prevalent in some areas and not others.
We DID notice that the walkway between Africa and Pandora was open today. We’ve previously seen the path closed because the park was so busy.
Mobile Order spots saw some congestion, as usual. But even Pandora didn’t have surprising crowds.
Still, LOTS of folks were in line with wait times at Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey sitting above an hour.
Animal Kingdom probably felt the most consistently crowded of the three (which is not usual!), but it still felt less crowded than other recent days.
