It’s officially time for the 2021 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival!

For the next few months (now through July 5th, 2021), you’ll be able to enjoy the beautiful topiaries and the awesome entertainment, as well as tons of delicious food. And we’re ALL about food here at DFB, so let’s make a stop by the Germany Pavilion to try some!

Over here, you’ll find the returning festival booth Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market. We’re excited to try some of our old favorites and see if they’re just as good as we remember.

Menu

This year’s menu has all the same food items as last year. We’ve got returning favorites like the Potato Pancakes, Toasted Pretzel Bread, and more!

Hey, guess we can’t blame Disney! We’ve generally enjoyed this outdoor kitchen in the past, so as the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Food

First up, we’ve got the Potato Pancakes with house-made applesauce. It’s plant-based AND a part of the Garden Graze, and you can order it for $4.50. 

These are great! The applesauce contributes to a really nice sweet-and-salty combo. But the pancake was SUPER creamy, with a weird applesauce-like texture. If that isn’t your thing, you may wanna try something else from this booth.

We also tried the Potato Pancake (that one’s singular) served with caramelized ham, onions, and herb sour cream. This version is NOT plant-based, so it’s just a tad more expensive at $4.75. This one also lacks that strange, soggy applesauce texture — so that’s a BIG plus. We enjoyed this meaty spin-off!

If you’re a fan of baked goods, you’ve really hit the jackpot here: you’ve got TWO options! The Toasted Pretzel Bread is topped with black forest ham and melted gruyère cheese for $5.50. And YES, it’s just as delightfully cheesy and tasty as it sounds.

And our last food item, the Warm Cheese Strudel with Mixed Berries, can be picked up for just $4.50. MORE cheese?! We’ll take it!

We’re BIG fans of this flaky pastry and its rich, sweet cheese filling.

Drinks

As far as drinks go, there are quite a few options! The M.I.A. Brewing Hugo, Bitburger Premium Pils and Stiegl Brewery Radler Zitrone come in 6oz sizes for $4.50 or 12oz for $8.50. The beer is a consistently solid option at this booth! You can also try all three in a Beer Flight for $9.50.

You can also order the Apfelschaumwein: Sparkling Wine and Apple Liqueur for $10. It was a pretty good sip — it tasted like mildly spicy apple juice! — but the rosemary kinda seemed like overkill.

Also note that the alcohol taste in this one is more prominent than many of the other Festival drinks. And if you’re sippin’, watch that rosemary! It could very easily go right up your nose. Trust us. 😉

Overall

Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market remains a solid Festival booth! All of the returning dishes were consistently tasty — boy did the Toasted Pretzel Bread and Warm Cheese Strudel satisfy our inner cheese lover. And if you’re walking around EPCOT on the hunt for beer, definitely stop here!
