Review: The New Poutine in Disney World TASTES Great…Just Don’t Look at It

It’s ALWAYS a good time for Poutine, isn’t it?

And that’s why it’s such a good thing that The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs always serves up this beloved Canadian dish, along with a few twists on the classic. Most recently, we tried the (totally unexpected) Butter Chicken Poutine. But today we’re back to check out the Bangers Poutine to see how it stacks up!

Bangers Poutine serves up Pork Bangers Sausage, Stout Gravy, and Cheddar with an Onion Marmalade… all atop, of course, that signature bed of thick-cut French Fries! It’s $9.99 for the dish.

It reminds us a bit of the Oktoberfest Poutine, which features bratwurst and sauerkraut. But here, those are switched out for the bangers and onion marmalade. And the visual effect is…

Weeeeelllll, it is what it is! But here’s where things get good… Our Poutine was made-to-order, so the fries were incredibly fresh. As you can tell (and as we LOOOOVE), they did not go light on that Stout Gravy!

We also appreciated how the flavor of the stout comes through in the rich, delicious gravy. And the onion adds a nice hint of sweetness to the pork and gravy, too, helping to lighten up what is otherwise a pretty heavy dish.

One change we’d suggest? MORE CHEESE!! Of course, you’d probably already guessed that, if you know us over here at the DFB. 😉 But seriously, the cheddar curds served on the classic Poutine (instead of the shredded cheddar) would’ve amped up the Bangers Poutine quite nicely!

That said, this dish is seriously substantial and tasty — perfect for the savory snackers this St. Patrick’s Day season! Yep, in case you hadn’t heard, S. Patrick’s Day is pretty much a season in Disney World… and we’ve already tried a treat or two! Stay tuned for more!
