EPCOT’s Future World Looked A LOT Different Today!

Some HUGE changes are coming to EPCOT!

We’ve already seen a few new changes, including the new fountain in front of Spaceship Earth and the new Leave A Legacy display. But so much more is coming, including the Harmonious nighttime show, the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride, and more!

Today we noticed that the water in the waterways near The Seas Pavilion is being drained.

This could mean that Imagineers are preparing to get to work on the upcoming Moana Journey of Water, which will be an immersive walkthrough experience where guests can interact with “magical, living water.” OR…it could be routine maintenance.

We noticed that all of Future World West was being drained.

Could this mean we’re now a little closer to the opening of the new Moana-inspired experience?

We spoke to a couple of Cast Members and none had a clear answer on the reasoning for the draining. Some said the water is routinely drained for pipe work, another said the water is often drained if there’s any sort of flowers or water features added. Only time will tell — but when we find out more, we’ll be sure to let you know!
