The season of love is upon us, and you know what that means…it’s time to chow down a whole bunch of NEW seasonal treats!
We’ve already had a Valentine Ice Cream Sandwich in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Valentine’s Day Cinnamon Candy Cupcake, and more. But, recently we made our way to Disney’s Pop Century Resort to try something new — the Call Me Sweetheart cupcake!
Hazelnut, chocolate, and strawberry? That sounds like the flavor combination of our dreams! And that’s exactly what you’ll find inside the Call Me Sweetheart cupcake. This treat features a chocolate cupcake filled with hazelnut cream. And, it’s topped with chocolate hazelnut and strawberry buttercream, a white chocolate heart with Mickey and Minnie hugging, and strawberry crisp pearls.
This cupcake definitely sounds delicious and looks ADORABLE, so we had pretty high expectations going in. Did this snack live up to its yummy-sounding flavors? We certainly think so!
Let’s start with the frosting, shall we? The hazelnut flavor is great and it pairs very nicely with the chocolate — so nicely that it leaves us asking for even more hazelnut. And, when you get a bite of the strawberry buttercream, you’re in for a treat.
The strawberry flavor is the stronger of the two but doesn’t overtake the cupcake by any means. Instead, it’s a nice surprise when you get a bite of it mixed with the chocolate hazelnut buttercream. Besides the delicious frosting, the cupcake itself is just a plain chocolate cupcake. No bells and whistles!
You can try this cupcake yourself for $5.49. The cupcake is available right now through February 15th at multiple spots. Specifically, you’ll be able to find it at Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort; Everything POP Shopping & Dining at Disney’s Pop Century Resort; Centertown Market at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort; Artist’s Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa; Good’s Food To Go at Disney’s Old Key West Resort; and Wind & Waves Market at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.
We’re eating LOTS of Valentine’s Day treats all around Disney World, so be sure to come back to DFB for more reviews, photos, and updates.
