Jambo from Harambe Market!

Harambe Market
This spot in Animal Kingdom’s Africa reopened in November for guests visiting this beautiful park on the weekends. But while hours remain somewhat limited, Harambe Market is currently open every day of the week except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So we thought we’d stop by during our Friday visit to grab a bite that we haven’t previously tried.
During one of our most recent visits to Harambe Market, we focused on one of the location’s primary offerings, the Ribs and Chicken Bowl which is served with cilantro rice. Today we ordered another dish that’s in keeping with the somewhat healthier fare at the Market: the Harambe Salad!

Harambe Salad
The flavor focus here is a bit of a surprise, as the Harambe Salad is a “Mediterranean-influenced” dish.

Harambe Salad
The makings include Pepperoncini, Kalamata Olives, Cucumber, Tomato, and Feta, and it’s served with Greek-style Vinaigrette Dressing. You’ll notice on Mobile Order that it can be ordered with or without chicken.

Harambe Salad
You’ll also notice on Mobile Order that there is an option to have the dressing included on the side, if you prefer; however, we ordered it as-is (with the dressing mixed in) and with chicken. A few pita triangles are also plated with the salad.

Harambe Salad
As you’ve probably already noticed from our photos above, the portion is HUGE, and there are generous inclusions of all of the ingredients!

Harambe Salad
Simply put: if you are a fan of Mediterranean salads, this will likely be a hit for you, just like it was for us! We were especially happy with the oodles of those Kalamata olives!

Harambe Salad
As far as the meat, we did find that we prefer the chicken from Satu’li Canteen (Pandora’s counter service location which specializes in customizable Bowls). But the accompaniments in the Harambe Salad are top notch.

Harambe Salad
The only real flaw we found was, alas, with the Pita triangles. They were so hard that they were pretty much inedible.

Harambe Salad
Overall, though, the dish is light and truly flavorful while also being very filling! It’s also worth mentioning that, on a day like today that is serving up beautiful weather, Harambe Market also offers a lovely outdoor setting (including plenty of spots offering shade) to soak it all in!

Harambe Market
The Harambe Salad is $11.99 with chicken or $9.99 without. If you’d like to try it (or maybe even grab a Simba Cupcake here), just keep in mind that Harambe Market is currently closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and hours on the days it is open are typically 10:30AM to 3PM.
