What time is it? COOKIE TIME!

Okay, maybe Saturday morning isn’t usually cookie time, but it IS when it’s the Gideon’s Bakehouse GRAND OPENING in Disney Springs. This beloved cookie supplier soft-opened the location last month, and now we’re celebrating the full opening of the restaurant at a special event!

Today is a very special day for Gideon’s Bakehouse and they are pulling out ALL the stops to thank customers for dropping by to celebrate the occasion. We’re talking free merchandise, free treats, and LIMITED-EDITION COOKIES!

We arrived at Disney Springs bright and early, and sure enough, TONS of folks had the same idea. Orange Garage opened at 9AM and there was a line to get in even before that time.

Once we headed in through the temperature check, it was pretty clear that LOTS of folks were headed over to Gideon’s Bakehouse.

By the time we made it over, there was already a line. Remember — Gideon’s didn’t open until 10AM! So, this many folks were there a full hour early. It was only a short period of time before the physical queue had filled and Gideon’s employees came out to start up the Virtual Queue.

We asked at 10AM and the Virtual Queue was already up to a wait of 11 hours. Having got to Disney Springs right at 9AM, we only waited about an hour.

But, IMO, the wait was worth it! As we mentioned, Gideon’s is celebrating by giving out some free and limited edition merchandise. We got to snag a free commemorative Limited Edition 11×14 Art Print of the Gideon’s Gargoyle…

…that’s SIGNED and numbered by artist Michael Reyes. There are only 1,000 of these prints available and only one given out per transaction.

Did you know the team at Gideon’s has uncovered the name of the gargoyle? According to Gideon’s, “Legend has it that if you can correctly pronounce his name, you will gain his protection. I know it. Will you?⁣⁣” Spoiler alert, but his name is Agubadijadzs. Whew! That’s a mouthful.

Speaking of free stuff, the first 250 transactions ALSO received a free Peanut Butter Buttercream Dip. Which is a GIFT — because it’s SO delicious.

The main event (and probably a BIG part of the reason so many folks are here) is that Gideon’s has FIVE limited-edition cookies available today. Usually, there are only one or two. To make sure folks get some good cookie options, the cookie-per-person limit has been raised from six cookies to 10 COOKIES today “for the first (and maybe last) time ever.”

Today, you can pick up the Frankenstein, the Santa’s White Christmas, the Coffee Cake Cookie (beyond just the morning!), the Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl, and the Coffee Toffee Chocolate Chip.

PLUS, the cake flavors available today are Red Velvet, Key Lime Pie Cake, and The Peanut Butter Banana Double Frosted Chocolate Cake.

And don’t forget that this evening features an EXTENDED Hot Cookie Hour with warm cookies topped with home-made ice cream from 7PM to 9PM.

The free merchandise is while supplies last, so if you’re thinking of heading to the grand opening, you’ll want to get there sooner rather than later. Employees told us that the virtual queue may open back up if people drop out of line.
