We already know about quite a few new Marvel shows and movies coming to Disney+ or theaters in the future. But, we expected that we’d potentially have to leave some of our favorite characters or actors behind.

The Avengers
One of those actors is Chris Evans, who played Captain America. Evans had previously noted that he would be hanging up his shield, and his character quite literally handed the shield to another character at the end of Avengers: Endgame. But, some sources are now saying that Chris Evens could be coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
According to Deadline, sources have indicated that Chris Evens is “cleaning the dust off his Capitan America attire” and is expected to rise that role in the MCU in some form. It’s still unclear if the deal is completely closed, but Deadline reports that some insiders say its “headed in that direction for Evans to return as Steve Rogers aka Captain America in at least one Marvel property,” with the possibility open for a second film.

Deadline indicates that its sources say whatever movie Evans returns to will not likely be a new installment of the Captain America films. Instead, sources say it’s more likely that Evans will return in a way similar to what Robert Downey Jr. did after Iron Man 3, where he appeared in films like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Captain America: Civil War.

Marvel has made no comment on this, according to Deadline. With the new The Falcon and the Winter Solider series headed to Disney+ and other Marvel series and movies on the way, it’s not yet clear how Evans will reprise his role. But, we can’t wait to find out!
Update: Apparently, however, reports about Chris Evans’ return was unexpected news to one important person…Chris Evans himself! Evans tweeted “news to me” yesterday apparently in reference to these reports.
