Construction for the ‘Zootopia’ Attraction Coming to Shanghai Disneyland Resort Reaches a Milestone!

In 2019, Disney announced a new expansion to Shanghai Disneyland that would be themed around the movie Zootopia!

This would be the first themed land in a Disney park created around the Oscar-winning film. We’ve been getting construction updates along the way, and today, the project reached a major milestone!

Today, Shanghai Disneyland Resort celebrated the topping out of the structure that will become the land’s main attraction. Leaders and representatives of the resort, along with leaders from the Administrative Commission of Shanghai International Resort and Shanghai Shendi Group, signed the final roof deck before its installation and watched as the top of the structure was completed.

The attraction will fully immerse guests in the city of Zootopia as they go on an adventure with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. Disney calls it “the first-ever land of its kind, featuring a major new attraction that seamlessly blends Disney’s storytelling and state-of-the-art technologies in order to bring this fan-favorite movie and its characters to life.”

We’re so excited to see this new attraction and land come to life! It’s even more exciting now that we know a Zootopia series is heading to Disney+ soon! We’ll keep you updated if we get any more details.
