If you’re looking for the ultimate blend of Disney theming and a tropical getaway, a vacation on Disney Cruise Line might be the perfect trip!
Even though Disney Cruise Line sailings are currently suspended, guests are still able to plan for future trips. Recently, we’ve even seen updates on cruise ship construction and changes to the Port Canaveral terminal. And today, Disney Cruise Line has made some updates to their cancellation policy and final payment deadlines!
Beginning today, December 2nd, 2020, Disney Cruise Line is temporarily extending their deadline for final payment on sailings through June 30th, 2021.
Guests will now have until 60 days before their departure to make the final payment on their trip. In addition to the deadline extension, Disney will also be temporarily relaxing the cancellation policy.
For cruises 5 nights or less, there will be no cancellation fee when the trip is canceled 60 days or more in advance. The cancellation fees after the 60-day window are as follows:
- Canceling at 59 – 45 days will forfeit the deposit per guest
- Canceling at 44 – 30 days will forfeit 50% of vacation price per guest
- Canceling at 29 – 15 days will forfeit 75% of vacation price per guest
- Canceling at 14 days or less will forfeit 100% of vacation price per guest.
For cruises of 6 nights or more, guests will also pay no fees for canceling 60 days or more in advance, but the schedule for other cancellations is slightly different. It works as follows:
- Canceling at 59 – 56 days will forfeit the deposit per guest
- Canceling at 55 – 30 days will forfeit 50% of vacation price per guest
- Canceling at 29 – 15 days will forfeit 75% of vacation price per guest
- Canceling at 14 days or less will forfeit 100% of vacation price per guest.
For those guests staying in suites and concierge staterooms, the cancellation policy is as follows, no matter the length of the cruise:
- Canceling at 60 days or more will forfeit deposit per guest
- Canceling at 59 – 56 days will forfeit 50% of vacation price per guest
- Canceling at 55 – 30 days will forfeit 75% of vacation price per guest
- Canceling at 29 days or less will forfeit 100% of vacation price per guest.
Reservations for Inside, Outside, or Verandah Categories with Restrictions remain nonrefundable and nontransferable. The Cruise Date Flexibility Option is still also available that allows guests to change their sail date up to 15 days prior to departure for any cruise booked before the end of 2020 and sailing before the end of May 2021.
If you have any questions about an upcoming sailing, be sure to contact Disney Cruise Line directly. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for any additional information from Disney Cruise Line and other Disney travel locations!
