Greetings from EPCOT’s Norway, where things are gettin’ a little FESTIVE!

As you can tell from the picture above, decorations are in place in this lovely pavilion as the park prepares for the 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. But the decorations aren’t the only new thing in Norway, as a stop by Kringla Bakeri og Kafe revealed several more treats at this counter service snack spot!

Kringla Bakeri began welcoming guests again in late September. Since reopening, the spot has been serving a limited menu featuring a small assortment of items, including the beloved School Bread.

But now, a few more fan favorites and a new item are available at Kringla! Joining the Rice Cream, Norwegian Kringla, and Lefse are the classic Troll Horn, the Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie, Verden’s Beste Kake and Eplekake!

The Troll Horn, you may recall, is a popular puff pastry horn filled with an orange marmalade cream.

The Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie is back, too.

This sleeper hit originally made its debut with pecans, but the version that has returned is packed simply with oodles of chocolate chips — the way it was being served when we last saw it.

Today, though, we went with one returning item along with a new one. We’ll start with the new Eplekake.

The Eplekake is a round apple cake drizzled with caramel ($4.49).

The Eplekake is served at room temperature. While it was described to us an an apple pie, it’s definitely a nice and moist cake… and a pretty delicious one, I might add!

The apple flavor is present, but not overdone. This is a terrific choice for those wanting a dessert that’s not overly sweet or covered in icing. Plus, it’s a nice portion, to boot!

The Verden’s Beste Kake is a back-in-the-day snack that is available once again! Here is a picture of what it used to look like:

Though the presentation is a bit different these days, it’s still a vanilla cake layered with custard and topped with meringue and almonds.

The Verden’s Beste is ultimately what you might call a “safe” choice.

There is nothing bad about the vanilla cake or, of course, the tasty Bavarian cream. And the almonds are a nice topper for both flavor and texture. But otherwise… there’s just nothing too exciting about it.

It’s good, if not particularly memorable. And the portion is decent here, too, for the $4.29 price.
