After the huge amount of Disney news we just learned, we are feeling REALLY excited for the future of the parks, resorts, and restaurants.
Since technology is getting transformed with flying Spider-Man animatronics, Omnimover ride vehicles, and a look into space from your bedroom, Disney has revealed additional details about how new experiences may change too.
Tilak Mandadi, the Executive Vice President of Digital and Chief Technology Officer of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, has detailed new information about the “metaverse” attractions that will connect guests to magical worlds through virtually enhanced spaces.
Although the “metaverse” might sound complicated (but awesome), it basically means that more virtual reality elements and experiences will be incorporated into the parks. While one example of this is the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, Disney will also be receiving the new Windows to the Wild Program as well.
Mandadi noted that “The Windows to the Wild Program that we are working on brings these [animal] interactions to fans through Virtual Reality.”
It seems like guests will be able to use goggles to see animals up close and personal in a way that Kilimanjaro Safaris and other attractions may not necessarily guarantee. Disney hasn’t just stated the Windows to the Wild as an exclusive offering to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, so we’d LOVE to see it featured in other parks too!
As Disney releases more details about upcoming technology and new innovative features, we’ll be sure to let you know how the parks are changing before your next trip!
