We’ve brought you Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Pumpkin Whoopie Pies… not to mention a Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream MAC-Tini, Pumpkin Bread Tiramisu, and even a Pumpkin Cheesecake Cannoli and more.
But among all of the pumpkin-inspired creations… last year we greatly missed a classic Disney confection that did not make its appearance in pumpkin form last fall. But it’s BACK this year, and we found it today at Zuri’s Sweets Shop in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
It’s PUMPKIN FUDGE, and you KNOW we grabbed a piece the minute we saw it in Zuri’s bakery case!
Pumpkin Fudge is something of a seasonal staple at the Disney World sweet shops like Main Street Confectionery, Goofy’s Candy Co., and the BoardWalk’s Screen Door General Store. But — even though we searched high and low — we did not see it in any of the confectioneries last year. And we give it a VERY hearty “Welcome back!”
Y’all, this is NO JOKE…
If you haven’t ever tried the Pumpkin Fudge, it might be a bit different than what you anticipate. Whereas most pumpkin treats place an emphasis on autumnal spices these days, the classic Pumpkin Fudge does not. While there is a hint of spice, the flavor is closer to straight-up pumpkin, almost like a puree.
The texture, on the other hand, is as dense and rich as you’d expect from a fudge! And it is, frankly, fantastic.
The Pumpkin Fudge — like any other Fudge varieties you may spy in the confectioneries like Cookies and Cream or Peanut Butter — is $4.39 for a piece. But you’ll often find a sign notifying of bulk pricing for 33% off of six pieces, so keep an eye out!
In the meantime, if you’re looking for a lil’ more pumpkin…
