We’re keeping you up to date everything happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ reopening today! It’s been busy and we’ve noticed crowds backing up in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Long waits and crowds are nothing new for attractions like Rise of the Resistance. But, the backups we’re seeing aren’t ride-related!
The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge area is quite busy despite limited guest capacity and ticket reservations.
If you’ve visited Galaxy’s Edge before, you may know that the Marketplace area is full of VERY SMALL shops guests can stroll in and out of as they shop. This area seems to have its own procedure for entering and shopping and is roped off to limit guest access.
Galaxy Edge’s shops are limiting how many people can go into the stores at one time to preserve social distancing. Guests stand in line on designated (and socially distant) spots to await entry into the Marketplace area to visit various Galaxy’s Edge shops.
Cast Members told us each small store is only letting in one party at a time. They’re allowing a set number of groups into the marketplace at a time and from there they can visit each store for their turn to get in.
Outside of the Marketplace, other shopping locations in the land have different capacity limits to keep down the numbers of people inside. For example, we were told by a Cast Member that Dok Ondar’s can have only 26 people at one time in their store. As a result, lines of guests are forming to get into the shop. Each party waits on a marker to enter the store of their choice, but cannot do so until another party leaves the shop.
So, if you’re planning to shop at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge shops anytime soon, then make sure to pack a little extra patience because you may have a longer wait than usual.
